Whilst at face value the HF contract is larger, Codan's share is approximately $6mil and is spread over about 5 yrs (according to the article). Looking at it relatively speaking, the $6mil over 5 yrs is small compared to the total radio division turn-over of $65mil last financial year where as the $1mil contract for Minetec is significant when compared to its $5.3mil turn-over from the previous year and being after a reorganisation, complete product redesign and refocus.
Regarding the HF contract in the article, the thing of interest to me is not the size of the contract, it is who it is too. The awarding of the contract is a ringing endorsement by the US government that Codan's HF Envoy radio products are best in the world, they would not be purchasing Codan radios if they were 2nd best.
