All those who had followed BTA on this HC site knew the weakness of Tamiflu but we also knew:

At the best of time, Peter Cook had proven beyond all doubts his talents managing OEC technology that could deliver meaner and leaner combustion engines at a time when oil prices were hitting the stratosphere and global warming is a major issue. Peter cook rewarded OEC shareholders with the sp falling from around 70 cents to 10 cents.

Peter Cook and his mates sold out the GSK case and reported what a wonderful job they did and had it not been for the GSK suit started by Peter Molloy, BTA would have a bumper 07/08 profit. Ooops, did we not read Peter Cook turning down a settlement worth $100 million?

Peter Cook and his mates performed so well that the BTA board deemed it appropriate to reward them with free options. The inverse relationship between executive wealth and shareholders wealth impressed most – well done Peter for your proven wealth creation talents.

In this tumultuous time of economic uncertainties, BTA increased the no of directors with executive remunerations increasing from the wonderful 07/08 year.

So how will this news on Tamiflu resistancehelp BTA shareholders? GSK sales to the seasonal flu market is close to zilch. The major market had been the pandemic stockpile on which the brokers reports posted on BTA website predicted $20m to $30m of royalties.
Any GSK sales to the seasonal market pales in comparison to the reduction of the pandemic stock sales.

The only news so far is the Japanese intentions to stock pile and it fell way way short of the brokers’ prediction. Ooops - I almost forgot: the Brokers did not predict the news posted on HC that Qatar had decided to replace their stockpile with the “newer seven years shelf life antiviral” which we all know is Tamiflu.

Getting rid of parasites that has taken BTA shareholders where they are today!

    Merry Christmas,
