Blythefan,
I have no beef with you but rather it's just you come across so often as if there is only one answer (e.g. your comments immediately after JORC in August 2010 to the effect that it was no way it could be altered or improved). As an inside industry type yourself, you must appreciation the all to common syndrome of "their project isn't much chop" and "look how they went about it". Indeed, I have read a report from a peer company geo in region that slams what had been reported and the geo teams approach taken for Aug 2010 JORC. Irrespective, in your honest opinion has CDU had a real go of it so far despite a few misdemeanours (inclusive of lack of experience is specific technical areas around drilling for a JORC and its collation)?
At the end of the day CDU's Rocklands project has been underpinned by its new cornerstone investor based on the DD. As such we'll all get to see together what was fact from fiction.
Finally, you are correct in your assert that I know very little about AOH but do recall reading a technical paper on Roseby which suggested there were potential serious issues with metallurgy (along the lines ikeymoses has suggested). Will try to locate when I'm back in the office and post it on AOH thread FYI if you like? I'm curious about the T&C of Xstrata's 51% option. You know better than I do that valuations will have to be done on LT consensus price not on current prices. Not sure of AOH's right of refusal about this likley impact on the valuation. Do you?
