I believe it to be normal profit taking and loss of momentum which makes a few panic a little and lock it in. That being said, a few maybe also locking in losses. For me it's never nice to view, but it appears to be the typical gyrations of the market place at play. We've had a very good run of late and the bigger players should return IMO when the time is right.
