CC's reference to going it alone was on one of the recent Proactive interviews. Think it was Proactive. We talked about it on the thread. He made the comment that they've been talking with everybody. That didn't mean that if Apple called and wanted to discuss licensing etc. of course he would talk, but he wasn't sitting there waiting for the phone to ring.

Re Samsung, also noted recently re the LifeQ partnership is that LifeQ are also partnered with many of the major watch/wearable manufacturers including Samsung. The last sentence in this part of the announcement has an interesting focus:

The collaboration between the Parties builds on the on-device and cloud-based health metrics derived from PPG sensors in wearable devices that LifeQ has developed with other partners such as Samsung, Fossil, Qualcomm, Motorola, Xiaomi, Suunto, Montblanc, and TAG Heuer.

The Agreement is intended to create a close working relationship whereby LQ and CDX can work together to innovate and create unique offerings for select, agreed market opportunities.

To me this suggests they have something specific and not yet available in mind.

I'm not concerned about ConneQt taking market share. If I have a concern it's around FDA approval. Even though the Atcor SphygmoCor is the predicate device - and the technology is effectively the same - making approval easier and more likely, it's not a gimme. CC is supremely confident it will happen. The SP suggests the market is taking a wait-and-see approach.

It's often said that FDA approval isn't a silver bullet, especially for drugs. In CardieX's case I think it is. CC has laid the foundation for everything else, and has got a first-class team on board to execute.

FDA is the missing piece. Once in the bag, it's game on.
