Excellent question SilentPartnr
I don't have numbers on the number of refugees that originate from each province within Syria, their ethnicity or their religion.
Most Syrians (87%) are Muslim (74% Sunni and 13% Alawite or Shia).
The pre-war population was about 22.5 million. Prior to the war, 90% identified as Arab. There were around 2 million Kurds (most of whom are Sunni Muslim) and something like a million Syrian Turkmen ( also Sunni) and a million Assyrian Christians.
I'm not sure that anyone knows exact numbers now beyond the fact that around 6.7million Syrians are refugees.
Knowing actual numbers will be very useful in defining the a roadmap for the future.
cheers
