Now I hear that Trump wants to keep a few hundred troops in North Syria! I can't see the point of leaving a few hundred troops in a region surrounded by Assad's Army and Iranian forces.
A better approach at this point in time maybe to work though Putin to ensure that Erdogan's ethnic cleansing pogrom doesn't happen. Perhaps Trump should have ensured that outcome before sending the troops to bases in Iraq (I hear they are not coming home).
Continued political backflips on an actual battlefield is sheer stupidity.
