ABS lending data for December 2020 is out today.

New home loans increased a further 8.6% in December are now up 31% over YoY. Owner occupied continues to lead but investor loans are also coming back strongly, now up 11% over last year. Loans for the construction of new dwellings and for the purchase of newly constructed dwellings were both strong. In terms of the state breakdown NSW and VIC were particularly strong, QLD and WA continue to grow at a more modest pace whilst SA declined slightly.
