Another thing for the cerhobs and debono's out there who seem to think the service industry is a lower class of people. Most in the hospitality industry, have to work split shifts, 5 days a week, sometimes 6. For those who don't know, that is when you have to start work in the morning, do lunch, then twiddle ones thumbs for 2 hours, or if you get slammed at lunch, prep up till dinner, then back to work at 5 for dinner service, till 10 or 11 or later. So noone in the hospitality industry should be compensated for working 'unsocialable' hours? Why, where on earth would you guys eat if noone wanted to work these hours without incentive? Unbelieveable really. And thats it from me, I have had enough of defending the stance of the original thread title. Yes, I work in a crappy industry, but I will stand up and fight for basic workplace rights and conditions, for this industry.
