I am currently reading "How to Survive a Plague" by David France. The story of how activists and scientists tamed Aids.
It says a lot about the scientists at the FDA and NIH and their rigid attitude to process. The need for placobo trials where there was 100% chance of death. Sound familiar.
After about 8 years of AIDS research funding and 100,000 dead, Dr Fauci was quoted as saying science has no timelines.
There is something seriously wrong with the US medical system. The average life expectancy in the US is declining. Is anyone focused on outcomes and cost?
Against this background Mesoblast has no alternative but to produce the best possible science and provide protection to the FDA scientists by way of independent audits and something they can stand behind.
Unfortunately it all takes time.
