Regardless, even if true that doesn't make it any more likely that the next trial will be successful.
And yes, the findings were impressive in the way that they were surprising - they were very unexpected. Mostly because they don't make sense in the way that we currently understand the pathophysiology of heart failure and stroke.
They've generated hypotheses. Now they need another trial. But they need a trial because the findings haven't been proven. And MSB doesn't have a great track record of meeting primary endpoints - most of their "success" is all post hoc subgroup analysis.
If you don't understand why this is important, it's probably because you don't understand the topic.
