Because I don't want to spend my whole life wrestling with petty vandals. Or swatting bugs. People track other people sometimes with ill intent - I have had that (posters trying to find my identity to stop my arguments - and they went way to far - they tried to do a twitter search to find out who I was - they got the wrong person - but they potentially disclosed that person to danger - done on hotcopper before - I could prove that - in court - so have zero fear that what I am saying is defamatory - but its not relevant here. That is the reason for wanting to control who has access to information. Its not the I want to avoid righteous accountability - its that we live in a world where contracts can be made outside of law - they aren't enforce-able by law - but that doesn't mean criminals don't make threats and carry them out any more than it being wrong to bend road signs means that some knuckleheads won't do it.
