Echuca Moama ...just down the road head west from us (well in aussie distance speak) ....I don't mind my saying we live in Mulwala ...so Mulwala NSW, Yarrawonga is across the bridge is Vic. Our biggest town employer is Thales ...the explosives and munitions factory ....that's the company Sco Mo mentioned the other week....and also the company that the water bombers were protecting during our fire .....do not want the biggest Australian explosive munitions factory to go boom.....very bad especially as I live reasonably close to it too On the bright side we have some of the best water in Australia as there's a need for crystal clear water in the factory processes.

All our medical services are in Yarrawonga ....hence why I had to get our border permits sorted.

I believe we will have to get a second border permit for upcoming medicals as Wangaratta is over 50 kms from here so ur border resident permits don't cover that extra few kms. So going to have to apply for more permits to take my mum for her rheumatologist appointment next week and then for dad's hospital visit. Still not sure if we will be able to visit him during his stay will have to wait and see what they tell us about that. They were very good with their practices when we went their for his pre surgery appointment ...had to ring from the car when we arrived ,follow the lines, temp checks, sanitiser etc etc

We've also got family working at Yarrawonga Health, Albury Base Hospital, and down in Melbourne ....ours are all nurses including an intensive care one ....another of our younger family nurses is off work at the moment as she also has COPD so they won't allow her to work ...which she's really bummed about but understands the risks are just too great for her. Trust me she'd be doing cartwheels if MSB's treatments helped her COPD. I admire her gusto for life as she's really been put through the mill since very young and she's still in her 20's.

It's not the medicos per say i'd be worried about it's the idiots that have been around here lately ....we've had way too many so I completely agree with the need for the border closures .... and as you say none of them would think twice about presenting without a mask ...let alone social distancing or washing their hands Don't say it's not happening folks because we locals know what sort of stupid behaviour we've seen displayed around here from the 'holiday makers' ....no wonder the locals were like ummm ok I think we'll all stay home far away from the 'visitors'....as far as we could get ha ha .
