It definitely sounds like enrolment is at least on their verge of complete. “The full trial is expected to be completed by October,” said Dr Grossman. The final data points of a complete trial would be “number of participants alive at 90 days”. October minus 90 days is basically now (start of August for end of October).
I reckon the interim analysis he is talking about is at the 45% (or even 60%) at 30 days point, with recruitment having happened so fast that the 30% got to 45% before the DMC could manage to sort out data cleansing, analysis and meeting.
