That seems a very simplistic take on things. The 'right' culturing conditions for MSC's demand low shear forces, appropriate mixing mechanisms, Computation Fluid Dynamics flow modeling etc. For single use bag systems perfusion becomes more difficult as volume scales up faster than surface area etc. Nutritional replenishment and waste management become more critical.
To imply that you can grow out MSC's in any old bioreactor with the addition of micro carriers is misleading.
Yes I also hope that SI / Mesoblast / Lonza have got this sorted... It seems necessary given the potential scale requirements for a Covid-19 treatment BUT to the best of my knowledge no one anywhere has yet demonstrated / proven the capacity of doing it.
