The issue isn't with shorting per se it's the nefarious way some shorters go about deliberately spooking the market to get their desired outcome. That is lacking in moral fibre at best. A lot of people got cheated out of their shares last week through what appears to have been a very well orchestrated attack. it can be said investors need to be aware however these professionals also know how to use human psychology to generate fear which they know has more impact on the average person than other emotions.
That approach doesn't sit well with me. For those that understood what was going on the shorters did create a great opportunity to accumulate more at a great price but at what cost. I was greedy and grabbed some more but I still feel for those who were spooked and sold.
