Didn't notice an answer to your query about the treatment of 2000 COVID patients with stem cells in Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center is using autologous stem cells - harvested from the patient's own blood, concentrated, then returned directly to the same patient's lungs via a nebulized mist.
Presumably that's quite a laborious process but Abu Dhabi's success rates so far bodes well for Mesoblast's off-the -shelf allogenic stem cell product (Remestemcel-L).
Just noticed that Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center and Pluristem (Israel) recently announced plans to work together 'to exchange research results, share samples, join usage of equipment and testing, and other essential activities related to advancing the treatment and research of cell therapies for a broad range of medical conditions, including COVID-19.'
Seems they are well behind MSB's off-the-shelf MSC product but I like the additional evidence that MSC's are effective on severe COVID cases. In May it was reported that ALL of the first 73 COVID-19 patients treated with Abu Dhabi stem cells recovered. That's an awesome success rate.
