This patent application for inflammatory bowel disease is interesting . I hear on the grapevine that Amy lightner has been getting some pretty remarkable results in treating these nasty gut conditions . If true it would be pretty bullish for a couple of reasons . Firstly she is a surgeon so you would have thought that she is getting these patients after all other treatments have failed and thus the disease has progressed a long way . Now we know from the chf, ards and Lower back pain trials that the greatest efficacy for stem cells is when they are treated early in the disease progression rather than later which would argue for even greater efficacy than what Dr lightener is achieving . The second reason that this is important is that it is a huge area and , I believe , is covered by the Novartis deal which is a massive additional reason as to why Novartis are not going to walk away from the agreement . We shall see !
