While it is preferable that courtesy is maintained in all public announcements, the language is only language, it is the science that counts as you say.. You also said that the doctors in the FDA are stoic. Well @alhambra, perhaps stoic in this context is a fine example of a contronym?

Stoic, the ability to endure pain or hardship without showing your feelings or complaining. Yet in this case it is not their ability to endure, it is their ability from the position of power that they hold and the consequences of their decisions to cause pain, suffering and death to others which should be at the fore.

The ODAC panel also made up of intelligent, sensitive doctors and specialists whose knowledge would I expect be far greater than many FDA employees?

If I recall, SI was respectful and chose his words very carefully when dealing with the FDA objections and I expect change of position. Others on this forum and increasing number of experts some you appear to criticise in your post are perhaps more forthright in "calling out" the foolishness of the current intransigent position of certain people in the FDA. Imagine what a parent of a child who has died from srGvHD might have to say?

Having said that, I am certain that SI and every representative of Mesoblast will continue to maintain a courteous, professional relationship in all their dealings .

Us mere mortals and it seems an increasing number of doctors who are simply trying to save lives, will continue to criticise what they see as wrong.

To quote @reginaldp "The bottom line is that the drug did work"

Each week a helpful poster will bring to our attention more and more evidence to support this. The criticism will only grow louder and more raucous, at the FDA failures.

Now having said all that, in some ways the implication of your post, that the FDA is rightfully cautious should not be dismissed. I agree they should.
But some of their decisions have not been the best examples as to the benefit of caution.

I think that the dam is about to break on approvals for new therapies (with Mesoblast leading the way). When it does, I hope that the FDA understanding of this new treatment paradigm will be able to filter out the bad ones. We shall see.

Finally @alhambra, thank you for posting, but my I ask if and any point in this process, will your position move to Held ? If you would consider holding, how close do you think that time may be?

My sentiment has moved back to buy. My position is unchanged, I hold. IMO it won't be too long before the dam breaks.

    Regards
    Yelrom
