Back in 2013 there was work done by the uk uni obj have worked linked to. Olay funded this work that looked at stem cells being activated at the lowest skin level. At this area which is in my opinon the holy grail of skin care the skin cells are asleep and only awake when the old skin is removed or is damaged ie cut.
Enter obj penetration. If you activate these cells beyond the natural level a more youthful skin is achieved.
