No have not heard any differently, just making some assumptions based on recent history with Wave 2 and Wave 3..
According to the June Shareholder Update, Wave 3 was "expected" to be launched "over" the fourth quarter of 2017, but instead was launched August (approx middle of Q3). I think this is a deliberate case of setting lower expectations and overachieving, as well as allowing a small buffer in case there were any unforeseen delays.
On page 2, it then goes on to reiterate that the second and third products are going to be launched over the next two quarters (Q3 and Q4).. says nothing about Wave 4/product 4 in the same paragraph and towards the end of the paragraph it says "OBJ and P&G are presently working on the fifth and sixth products incorporating micro arrays"
In then says further down the page that the fourth product is expected to be launched during 2018 (as you pointed out). But the terminology used in this announcement back in June is consistent with Wave 2 and Wave 3 and tells me that Wave 4 is likely already completed and agreed upon and probably under mass manufacturing / distribution ahead of a launch.
Wave 5 and 6 use a different terminology ("presently working on fifth and sixth products incorporating micro arrays") whereas Wave 4 is using the same terminology as Wave 2 and Wave 3 ("expected to be launched" at x date).
The recent discovery that the patent was lodged around 10 days prior to the already launched Magnemasks (Wave 3) product, along with Wave 3 arguably launching 1 full quarter earlier than indicated (roughly mid-August is mid Q3 and the mid point of Q4 is mid November).. if you had to guess a date for the "expected Wave III" launch "across" quarter 4, the midpoint of mid-November is a reasonable place to start..
So if Wave 3 is a quarter "early", and patent for Wave 4 was lodged approx 10 days prior to the patent for Wave 4, combined with the fact that every Wave as launched exponentially faster than the previous Wave combined with the terminology used way back in June which indicates that Wave 4 is much closer to Wave 2 and Wave 3 (already launched) as opposed to being closer to Wave 5 and Wave 6 (still "being worked on"), and with some small evidence that OBJ have learned their lesson are now understating and overachieving with their "expected" timelines... all indicate a closer launch than anticipated..
Do we dare to dream Wave 4 is out by end of calendar year 2017??
