do not assume they will get child support from the fathers in my career as a tax accountant, I have known men to chuck in their jobs and go on the dole, rather than pay support....that is how strongly they feel about paying for their child others cannot be found, they disappear off the face of the earth others will work for cash, so they cannot be traced.. it is a very emotive subject for many I understand the women have to try to trace them, and the ATO will get involved, but one needs an address, or tfn to get started
