You sound very confident that this is the only alternative.
You dismiss the idea that physical life may have a purpose and reason and yet search scripture for confirmation that your incomplete view about flesh and spirit is OK.
If this physical existence is inconsequential because it may be over almost before it began or is a firefly in a Universe of Celestial Stars, why do the scriptures you search make clear it is very important. (Though not necessarily for the reasons claimed).
Some even claim that the Creator of the Universe sent His only Son to experience and impact on this physical existence. Why bother if it is inconsequential ?
