    I'm with others in querying why accepting abiogenesis or any other hypothesis about the origin of life somehow affects it's meaning ... particularly your suggestion it reduces meaning.

    Just as a matter of interest if you discount the anthropomorphic projection of the Judaic religious "God" which is entirely self serving, there's not much difference between abiogenesis hypothesis and the OT Biblical thumbnail picture.

    Science postulates that life began by the Earth providing "chemicals" (dust) and the Sun (Ruler of this Solar System) providing the "breath" of it's radiation/emanations.

    Unfortunately the Judaic religions insist on claiming ownership of this process and require it's expression in their anthropomorphic terms.
