The issue is the fact that you have certifcated shares. To trade on the LSE you need an uncertificated holding that is through Crest (similar to CHESS). The easiest way to sell them is through a broker where you assign them to the broker and they then bring them in to CREST and can sell on your behalf.
I am not sure which Broker you used. The Target Statement suggested using Argonaut securities for this task. +61 8 9224 6854.
It will probably take around 2 weeks to close out this type of trade.
Annexure A of the Bidders statement gives a description of the sales process for LSE or TSX. Since your shares are LSE you would need to have them removed from the Jersey Registry and transfered to the Canadian Registry before you can sell them. Seems to be an even longer process and may cost additional fees.
