I have a 25 year old nephew on around $28.00 an hour he has passed the Bar as a lawyer and done 6 years to get his law degree, also a step daughter who is 28 on about $22 an hour after passing her finance degree to be an accountant and half way through her papers to get her CPA with the accounting firm she is at .
Both are stable employees but not making a lot of money considering I was making around $140 an hour in todays money 30 years ago at their age and only had a 1 year diploma - difference is I was working as a contractor for myself and I knew how to tender to get the good contracts plus had a couple of good employees .
Agree having a degree is not a passport to wealth , it is a good toolbox though to use with some business sense and a bit of hard graft , so I would say it is worth getting , also have another daughter who has an arts degree and is making good money as an author once again working for her self .
