I also think that it is not a bad thing to sell few Australian assets, for better price to its value without too much haircut on discount rate.
Holding US assets wouldn't do much harm to current business, due to high occupancy rates. These assets in US still generate same and steady cashflow, that is good enough to keep Centro performing strong business anyway.
I assume banks may accept Centro to not pay back all $3.9bn short-term debts. Like you mentioned, maybe by payback $1bn is enough to lower the leverage level, which banks may be happy with to refinance the rest.
However, I don't like the idea of equity injection. That's probably the last option to exercise.
