For those people saying it is not WestLBs fault - that it lent the money out and expected repayment on the due date - you guys have got rocks in your head. Do you seriously believe that is how business is done? That is, that whenever a loan is due the borrower sells off assets to repay the loan? No way! Both parties expect the loan to be rolled over ie refinanced at that time.
I think that all of the banks are playing hardball in trying to get Centro to give more security for their loans.
Anyway it's now wait and see.
