    Apples,

Here's the data since 1st May 2008 showing the top 6 brokerage houses who traded CNP to Friday last week. (Thanks to some help cutting, pasting and formatting)

Broker Buy Volume Sell Volume Net Volume
    ComSec116,981,193 109,731,478 7,249,715
    Etrade 36,804,974 32,920,361 3,884,613
    Westpac 33,355,645 30,669,002 2,686,643

    AeqSec 14,171,002 14,354,816 -183,814
    AusInv 9,923,055 10,041,266 -118,211

AusInv handles trades for a number of clients, including NAB.

Total volume traded during this period was 290m shares and these 6 brokers account for almost 230m of buys.

You'll see that Australia's top 3 retail brokers (Comsec, etrade and Westpac) accounted for 187m of the shares bought, yet the net position across them only increased by about 14m.

The remaining 61 brokers who traded CNP during the period, including all of the major instos account for only 60m shares in total, and no single one of them did more than 6.8m.

CNP has about 845m shares on issue.

If you don't see extensive day-trading, what do you see?
