Sounds pretty grim Dr B, but have to say on many accounts I agree with you. I don't feel conditions here in Oz are going to get quite as bad as the doom-sayers might reckon, given our banks are considerably less tainted by the offshore investments in the subprime market. Although slow down is definitely in progress. Our neighbour NZ has officially announced that economic conditions are now in recession mode...how long before we slip into that (if at all) is the big question.

Back to CNP, they may be able to pull a trick out of their hat by next Tuesday, but I can't see it happening for long as banks tighten their lending requirements.

We definitely live in interesting although volatile times!
