One area of vulnerability that is rarely dicussed is the tapping of undersea cables by military agencies. This was done in the mid 90's it seems & technology has moved on a lot since then. These submarine cables pass through many international boundarys & military agencies in various countries can sit at leisure in the deep oceans undetected. Special sub's can bring the submarine cables on board where they can be stripped & tapped in a dry enviroment in the same way that repairs are made.
