Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) intends to issue a full and open competitive solicitation (Request for Proposal), within the next 30 days, for the procurement of a demonstration and evaluation of hardware for a new weapon system, Mission Payload Module ? Non-Lethal Weapon Systems (MPM-NLWS). This new weapon system is to provide the Marine Corps with improved counter-personnel, non-lethal capabilities. It is to be mounted onto the Marine Corps Transparent Armor Gun Shield (MCTAGS). This is a research and development requirement, with the initial award of a Cost Plus Fixed-Fee (CPFF) contract for the Technology Development (TD) Phase only for evaluation of demonstrated payload effectiveness, munitions fuzing/functioning and weapon platform compatibility. The Government intends to make one or more awards with approximate values of $1,500,000.00 for the TD Phase only on or about 2nd Qtr 2010, with a period of performance of 18 months each. Award(s) will be made to the Offeror(s) whose proposal demonstrates the best value to the Government.
