If you say so. Now we’ve got the toddler jibes out of the way, here’s some free schooling for you on how investigator initiated trials work:
1. research doctor has research idea , let’s say it’s a drug combination trial - sound familiar?
2. But research doctor needs the money and the drugs to do it
3. Researcher knocks on Pharma company A’s door. Please sir I have a great idea can you give me some money and your drug A free for charge?
4. Researcher knocks on Pharma company B’s door. Please sir I have a great idea can you give me some money (unless company A has already offered to pay the lot) and your drug B free of charge?
5. You both will help ? Great! I can start my study! This is definitely going on Facebook!
6. research doctor starts the research.
So yes research doctor is interested in the drugs, and both companies are interested in the research otherwise they wouldn’t support it. But it doesn’t mean company A is interested in Company B, or that they’re about to become drinking buddies Nor is one about to become an acquisition target of the other through a IIT which is what a few SH seem to be dreaming about. But it might provide nice opportunity for company A or B to name drop the other in market communications. Sound familiar?
