    the fear is of a profitless boom.
    inputs increase,production risks increase,regulation is enacted on the basis of what the swinging voters in a few marginal seats relate to emotionally.

    lot of bulk commodity looking for a short term home could mean that the profits in the big production year aren't big enough to build a buffer against the low production year.

    there are a lot of hungry people, but they are poor. the trend seems to be not one of guaranteeing food security by high prices, but 'pie eaters' regulating supply,so no-one gets any more than anyone else---and that what they do get is produced 'correctly'.because to grow less food according to emotional notions is just so much more important than to grow the optimum amount of food,but to hurt someones feelings doing it.
