It makes sense they are involved in the standards body as the largest solar cell producer. I think they are smart, rather than 'sly' wanting a seat at the table to help develop and manage industry standards. I think it's unrealistic to say they are trying to influence the outcome of tests other than by developing reasonable requirements against which to test candidates.
