Coty Introduces Wella’s Smart Mirror

Coty unveiled the Wella Professionals augmented reality (AR) enabled Smart Mirror. It enhances the hair color experience from consultation to aftercare with live AR hair color try-on, facial recognition that enables the retrieval of past looks and 360° video capture to view the hair at every angle, among other services.

P&G’s Precision Skincare System

P&G Ventures, the startup studio within Procter & Gamble, unveiled Opté Precision Skincare System. After years of development and over 40 patents, Opté has combined the best of optics, proprietary algorithms, printing technology, and skincare in one device — it scans, detects, and corrects hyperpigmentation with precision application.

L’Oréal’s New Wearable Sensor

L'Oréal says it has furthered its commitment to skincare science and personalization with My Skin Track pH by La Roche-Posay — the first wearable sensor and companion app to easily measure personal skin pH levels and create customized product regimens to better care for skin.

Olay’s Innovations

At the P&G-owned brand's first CES this year, Olay announced new enhancements to two of its original innovation platforms that are offering hyper-personalization to consumers — Olay Skin Advisor and Olay Labs—plus, the current development of a new gadget that optimizes customization when applying skincare products, the Olay FaceNavi Smart Wand. All are planned to go live in 2019. Olay’s Skin Decoder is a camera attachment for your mobile device that delivers improved hi-res images for a more detailed skin diagnosis.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which was held January 8-11, in Las Vegas, is known as “The Global Stage for Innovation,” and with electronics and digital apps entering the cosmetics industry by leaps and bounds, the event has also become a destination for learning about the newest beauty launches.
