Care to explain why in you opinion CFDs are trouble
as someone else has stated if you can make money trading fully paid shares then you will make around 10 time more trading CFDs
Of course if you can not trade shares succesfully then you are going to lose 10 times more trading CFDs
the trouble therefore is not CFDs but a persons lack of trading ability.
As for placing calls and puts being outside the spectrum of investment with the exception of placing a put option as an insurance over falling market, yes puts and calls could be said to be outside the spectrum of investment.
But puts and calls (I am assuming you are referring to ETOs) as with CFD are primarily a short term trading instrument NOT AN INVESTMENT instrument. There is a massive difference (something many here clearly do not understand) between long term investing and short term trading
