I am with cmc markets and have just been trading CFD'S for perhaps six weeks or so.
I am not aware of being able to place a trade without leverage on this platform. it is 1:10 for ASX stocks.
you pay interest on the full amount of the trade, at the bank o/night rate + x%. the total is about 5% at the moment I think.
your right, it can look a bit like a poker machine going off if you have some charts up of heavily traded stocks plus your order list and history list up.
my initial difficulties were understanding the buying and selling tickets - limits, taking profits etc.
on the drawback with having to pay interest i have a good amount in a property trust paying 8% p/a (childcare) so if i have that same amount invested in cfd's (presuming I am making a profit on that) I am in front in that department.
