UPDATE: CFMEU members have been told to down tools and head to the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court to protest ahead of John Setka and Shaun Reardon’s hearing over blackmail charges.

The controversial leaders will face the court this morning on blackmail charges over an alleged black ban on concrete company Boral. Both will plead not guilty.
Victoria Police will be on patrol outside the court, and have warned of traffic delays near Williams and Lonsdale streets from 8am.
A CFMEU member told 3AW that workers had received a text message telling them to leave building sites and make their way to the court.
Victoria Police spokesman Paul Turner said police were aware of the protest.
“Police will be present and will monitor crowd behaviour and respond where appropriate,” Mr Turner said.
