Are we all just burying our heads in the sand or did this event genuinely not bother anybody?
He resigned after just 1 week in the role.
If it's truly for personal and/or medical reasons, he wouldn't have taken up the role at all. Most personal/medical events unfold over long periods of time, such that by the time you need to resign from a senior role, you have been knee deep in the personal/medical events for a long while already.
It's not hard for shareholders to imagine that this guy got a detailed a look at the company's insides and then bolted out the door ASAP.
We have all seen this - top executives from listed company depart when the company is hotly embroiled with scandals and problems, yet they always cite "personal reasons" like wanting to spend more time with family or other such BS.
Management needs to put out a better explanation for his departure to address this. Otherwise this is a red flag and cause to sell.
