It is curious that some posters seem to think that amendments to the existing legislation or the creation of new legislation will somehow produce a miraculous recovery.
1. Legislative amendment / creation takes a considerable amount of effort and time.
2. How long does the CGB 'cash at bank' last whilst legislation is being drafted, debated, passage through Parliament, reference to a committee (possibly) and then promulgated?
I guess it could be Delegated Legislation ... but I doubt it ... given the nature of the legislative change and the public perception etc.
Linking CGB success to legislative change and making those changes sound as though it is a fait accompli (use of the word imminent) ... is somewhat misleading ... I think!
