No one yet seems to commented on the strangely exact price of 243.55p bid for KAH. My take on this (having lived for 22 years in Hong Kong) is as follows:

1) Revised initial bid price for KAH was 270p.
2) For usual "face" reasons (especially valid in a state controlled company, rather than a private one), and what has happened in world economy since revised initial bid rejected by Takeover Panel, is that final price paid has to be a little bit below 270p and ideally a "lucky" number, i.e. involving an "8".
3) CGNPC would expect to have to raise their 3rd bid price of 243.55p. A raise of "double figures", i.e. at least 10%, is good psychology with investors.
4) 10% of 243.55p is 24.355p => 267.905 is up 10%. So they will go for 268p.
