Hi
i have a question around CGT that i hope one of u can help with.
I fully understand the difference of the 12 month discount and holding less than 12months etc, my question is, if i bought 100,000 shares in a company, and i hold them for more than 12months...i then decide to buy another 10,000 shares in the same company so that i now hold 110,000 shares. 1 week later i sell the 10,000 shares as i made a profit on that recent buy....so is the 10,000 units i sold considered to be from my original 100,000 holding that is more than 12 months old, or the recent 10,000 units i just bought and sold? I assume its classed to be from the original holding and subject to cgt based on it bring held for more than 12 months?
