Under superannuation, I believe this merger will have zero tax implications as I am over sixty five.

The only complication I can see is that my superfund does not allow you to buy shares in a company that exceeds 10% of the value of the account. Although a stock that grows above 10% is allowed. The merger of these two stocks will exceed 10% but I am hoping it will come under the same ruling as a stock that grows organically.

I think it depends on whether your super is in accumulation or pension phase...
