Some experts think that the US already has access to enough IRA compliant Lithium for the next 7 to 8 years.
“ … in the global context, the U.S. market is not that big and will also not be that big, even in seven years or eight years from now. And when you think that the two biggest lithium producers in the world today, which are Australia and Chile, both are free trade agreement partners.
The only thing we're just missing is conversion capacity in Australia. So I think there will be plenty of IRA compliant lithium chemicals available for the US market. So, no, I don't think there will be a premium .….. for the sake of it being IRA compliant, there will be sufficient IRA compliant lithium.”
