As an MGC investor I want to see Philip Tracy remain as Chairman of MG Co op. He is the one thing stoically holding it all together. He has made some tough decisions in tough times. He hasn't run away in the face of threats of abuse.
Who could replace him? They would need appropriate business and corporate governance qualifications and experience. Also desirable would be a knowledge of dairy farming and a vested interest in MG Co op to prove commitment.
Can you imagine how loud a qualified applicant would laugh when told of a salary of $250,000? They've dedicated several decades of their life committing to acquiring the qualifications and experience to enable them to fulfill the role of corporate governance and they get paid a pittance to get a face full of farmer expectoration and threats of abuse.
The sad truth is that Mr Tracy will likely step down at or prior to the next MG Co op AGM after holding the Company together during a difficult time. Brave, committed, fair dinkum. As an MGC investor, I will re evaluate my investment then.
Who would replace him? Who has the required experience, qualifications, commitment and a vested interest in MG Co op and willing to take the abuse? Who?
