Post said it was 21Aug2022 but sometimes these dates can be wrong. I just saw it this morning. SP has had a little bounce so maybe 21Aug22 is correct.
Summary of the points for me though...
100t now => doubling each year for ~7 years to get to their aspirational 10000tpa.
22000tpa of Barramundi consumed in Australia each year.
Managed controlled pond environment - better on diseases pollution etc. than the netted pens in the saltwater bays for salmon etc.
Can be only grown in the Riverina region - “Not only does Murray cod not grow anywhere else in the world, it doesn’t even grow anywhere else in Australia,” - probably referring to brand protection like Champagne.
Each fish is 2-3kg and sold for $35 per kg to restaurants.
Murray Cod can fly but luckily, not far enough to escape ponds into natural waterways that are 6km from the nearest MCA ponds - wouldn't want them flying away at $70 to $105 per fish.
