Adder i think you are referring to the products being developed to mil spec and as you pointed out then they needed to go through ask extensive certification and implementation procedure before full scale production.

However the MAUL's being proposed for the police etc are not required to meet the same mil spec as best I know.

Also the statements made in 2007 were prior to the GFC which threw a spanner in all development and made the ability to obtain funding very difficult. It is a credit to the coy that they are still here given the finance issues over the last five years - I tip my hat to TOD for this. Now it appears that a mix of mil spec and non mil spec contracts are in the offing. As usual one player is absent without reason i.e. AUST DOD DMO.
