Chalice neighbour, Anson Resources (ASX:ASN), begins surveying at The Bull, showing striking similarities to CHN’s Julimar Discovery
- Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has begun survey work to follow up on a recently confirmed mafic-ultramafic intrusive complex at its The Bull project in WA
- The Bull covers 82km² and is located 20km along strike of Chalice Gold Mines (ASX: CHN) high grade Julimar Complex
- The company has applied for an exploration licence over the area
- Anson has identified 3 major targets at The Bull measuring up to 1,400m in length & 800m in width – targets are displaying early similarities to the high-grade Julimar Ni-Cu-PGE discovery
- Drone magnetic and gravity surveys are being carried out at the main target to produce high-resolution imagery to interpret structural details and geometry
- Anson has also started geological mapping and rock chip sampling which is focused on the Target 1 anomaly
- Anson is following the same exploration pathway Chalice used for its world-class discovery
Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has begun survey work to follow up on a recently confirmed
mafic-ultramafic intrusive complex at its The Bull project in WA.The mafic-ultramafic intrusive complex was identified at the start of November and validates the project has a similar geological terrane as Chalice Gold Mines' (CHN) Julimar nickel-copper-platinum group elements (PGE) discovery.
Given The Bull project has clear similarities to Chalice Gold Mines' Julimar Project, Anson claims it's following the same exploration pathway Chalice used for its discovery. Following the Julimar discovery, CHN’s market capitalisation has rocketed to $1.2 billion. Anson is currently capped at $24 million.
Currently, drone magnetic and ground gravity surveys are being conducted over the main Target 1 area. The company will use the data from these two geophysical surveys for high resolution imagery to interpret structural details and geometry within a magnetic anomaly that's been identified as Target 1.
Additionally, the data will help to create an aeromagnetic inversion 3D model to define the geometry of the intrusive in three dimensions.
Anson has also started a detailed geological mapping and a rock chip sampling program which is focused on the Target 1 area. Samples are being collected from outcrop and sub-crop on the proposed grid lines.
Once rock chip samples have been completed, analysis of multi element and precious metals will take place at a lab. Resulting geochemical targets will then be surveyed using airborne electromagnetic surveys.
A word from the management team
"Follow up exploration work is now underway to further investigate the potential layered intrusive complex, 7 kilometres in length and 2.5 kilometres wide, identified in the target one anomaly at The Bull,"Executive Chairman and CEO Bruce Richardson said.
"The Bull continues to shape as an exciting opportunity for Anson and we are prioritising exploration on this project area accordingly,"he added.
"We are continuing to follow the exploration pathway used by Chalice Gold Mines to define the Julimar Ni-CuPGE discovery and look forward to providing further updates on our work programs in due course,"he concluded.
