I now see why GFU is so unhappy. He bought the stock years ago. Seemingly he kept his stocks througout the GFC. I guess he should have dumped all his stocks (including GRR)in early 2008 and bought them back in March last year at bargain basement discount.
I just bought GRR recently. I am in the black actually (not by much at this stage).
The company is no longer the same one as before when he bought at $2.50 ? The ABM merger was a reverse takeover. Without Shagang (or another Chinese owner / partner) GRR won't be able to grow the business and develop Southdown.
Don't know what he means when he said Shagang is only interested in supply. All Chinese mills are here to ensure security of supply. Just about every Oz miner has so far sold off 50% of the JV they entered. CXM, GBG and others to follow. Yeah, Shagang has a bigger stake in % terms, big deal. The same is true of ASX miners with resources overseas like SDL and SPH.
